Our team of qualified maths teachers can help close gaps in your students' knowledge through Private One to One, or Small group (up to 6), Tuition sessions.
We appreciate how difficult it can be to teach a full timetable, plan and mark, attend meetings and morning briefings, provide pastoral support to your form class, run weekly intervention lessons, do your break and lunchtime duties – and still find time to use the bathroom in a school day! Not to mention some teachers also have additional roles and responsibilities… We can help.
Break the cycle by not leaving it until year 11 to intervene when students are falling behind. Don’t sweep the problem under the rug until the final and most crucial year of a student’s school career. It creates extra pressure for the student, and risk of burnout for their teachers.
Sign your students up for Private One to One, or Small Group Tuition today (available to all year groups) and let us help you to take some of the load off.
How does Private Tuition work?
For most School Clients that we currently work with, we go in to the school once a week (on a pre-agreed consistent day), and work with students across at least 3 consecutive lessons, in groups of minimum 3 – maximum 6 (the numbers are in line with Government guidelines for small group tuition, including NTP). You will see from the examples below, that day, timing and numbers of students in each group can all be negotiated…
Examples
We could come to your school every Tuesday and work with 3 students in period 1, 6 students in period 2, 4 students in period 3, and then leave.
We could come to your school every Thursday and work with 6 students each period from the start of the school day – to the end of the school day.
We could come to your school every Monday and work with 4 students in period 2, 3 and 4, and then leave. Then return on Wednesday and work with 5 students in period 3, 3 students in period 4, 3 students in period 5, and then leave.
The benefits of taking up this Tuition package for your students are many, and class teachers can use this as an opportunity to…
Support LPAs, with a significantly smaller learning environment, so that they can catch up / recap / revise previous topics that they didn’t grasp the first time
Stretch HPAs, by giving them the space to learn higher level topics and extend their knowledge beyond what there is time for in the classroom
Encourage students whose main barrier to learning is their confidence
Provide an extra layer of intervention to students who need the most academic and / or behavioural support
Our tutors are experts in their subject, with a passion for sharing their knowledge and helping students to develop a love for the subject too!
The great thing about Private tuition is that it is specific and bespoke to each individual, or small group, of students. Prior to the tutor’s first lesson, they will have had the chance to discuss the students’ needs with their class teacher(s), and agree a clear topic list that the tutor will use to close gaps in student knowledge. Tuition sessions are normally purchased as a minimim of 6 sessions over one half term.
How many students can we sign up at one time?
There is absolutely no limit to the number of students you can sign up for Private Tuition sessions, it is all about how much support your students need, and how many of them need it. We can come in and work with your students for a minimum of 3 consecutive lessons / hours of the school day, or for the entire school day.
Equally, we can come in once a week, or 4 times a week, the choice is yours.
Is this exclusively based at school?
Simply put, no.
It is of course easier to have the sessions based at school, and timetabled into the school day, as this creates more ease of communication between teacher, student and tutor. However, if the school wishes to provide one to one private tuition to an individual student, this can be carried out by one of our teachers either at the school (before or after the school day)
Additionally, we acknowledge that sometimes children need to be educated at home due to unforeseen circumstances in their personal lives, or a sudden change in their health and wellbeing. In these circumstances we could arrange with the school some online or home based tuition for that student, in order to ensure they do not fall behind in their learning.
of our clients report that their child makes just as much, if not more, progress with online tuition!
